Our Definition of Poverty

EndPovertyEdmonton has defined poverty in the following way: Edmontonians experience poverty when they lack or are denied economic, social and cultural resources to have a quality of life that sustains and facilitates full and meaningful participation in the community.

A Poverty Profile

In January 2015, Edmonton Social Planning Council produced a benchmark research paper called “A Profile of Poverty in Edmonton”. This document provides a current benchmark of poverty statistics and trends in Edmonton.
