Road Map Action 23

Revisit and renew affordable housing agreements with other orders of government, implement a housing awareness campaign, and initiate a Centre of Excellence for social housing.

Road Map Timeline: Year 1

EPE Strategy priority alignment: #13 - Negotiate with other orders of government to increase funding for affordable and supportive housing as well as rental subsidy programs.

SOCIAL HOUSING REGENERATION

Initiative Lead Organization:
CITY OF EDMONTON CITIZEN SERVICES - SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS

 

City of Edmonton is currently working closely with the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada to explore options for maintaining and regenerating the current supply of social housing in Edmonton. The Social Housing Transition Advisory Committee has been created to facilitate this conversation.

Initiative Name:
HOUSING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Initiative Lead Organization:
CITY OF EDMONTON CITIZEN SERVICES - SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS

 

The City is currently developing a set of initiatives that will enhance public engagement, communications and advocacy processes for affordable housing. These projects include a public engagement charter, a social marketing campaign, and an advocacy strategy.
