SUICIDE PREVENTION STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT

Initiative Lead Organization:
CITY OF EDMONTON

The implementation plan, Living Hope: A Community Plan to Prevent Suicide, was approved by City Council on March 20, 2018 and funding was secured in April 2018. This strategy was developed through a collaborative process that specifically considered the Edmonton context through local research and data. Its goal is to bring the community closer to preventing suicide and to position Edmonton as a leader in suicide prevention.

Going forward, the work will be guided by a community-based implementation team. This team will implement the plan’s goals of educating, capacity building, increasing hope and promoting healing in order to prevent suicide in Edmonton.
